Executive Cars offers self drive hire from compact city cars to SUVs and 4×4s, and every car shows whether it can be self-driven before you get attached to it.
Each self drive rate is charged per 24 hours. The car page shows the kilometres included per day, the charge for extra kilometres and the refundable security deposit, so there is nothing to discover at pickup. Some luxury cars are chauffeur only, and those listings say so plainly.
Taking a 4×4 on safari
Plenty of visitors hire a 4×4 to drive to the Maasai Mara, Amboseli or Tsavo themselves. Our SUV and 4×4 class is the place to start. Tell us your route when you book and we will point you to a car that suits the roads and the number of people travelling. Park entry fees are not included in the rate.
If you would rather have someone else handle the road, the same class is available with a chauffeur on most cars, and our tour packages include the vehicle and a day-by-day plan.

How much is the deposit?
The deposit is 40% of the quoted total, subject to a minimum of KES 10,000. It appears as its own line before you pay anything, and the balance is due on completion.
